Pretty much just looking for the deflections on these settings. From research, I see which groups are activated with different flap lever settings. I can't seem to find the angles of the L/E devices at the different settings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Don't remember angles being quoted. They're either extended or retracted according to the manual. When Flaps 1 is selected, the inboard and midspan groups extend, the outboard on Flaps 5 selection. The Inboards are Krugers, the midspan and outboards flexible panels which distort to a aerofoil shape when extended.

And are called Variable Camber Leading Edge Flaps...not Slats....

Variable Camber (can't remember where I found this picture)

Beautiful curves)

The (inboard) Krugers have no airgap, are flat panel, but have a folding snout (like the Variable cambers).

Only two positions... In and Out (as specified in the previous post)

Thanks guys for the replies. I did see that they are variable LE flaps in my research... just wrote slats. :O I was looking for the actual degrees of deflection these extend to for the various flap lever settings. I wasn't sure if they are controlled by systems that take into consideration flight conditions or if they were pre-set for each flap lever position.

Thanks for the answers!

There is only one extended deflection setting, and I don't think there is any "angle" attributed to it, or what the reference lines would be.

As said the LE of all 747s is either extended or retracted, there is no mid position.

The 748 does however have gapped kruegers unlike the previous versions of 747.

Note that the term "variable" purely refers to the way the LE Flap surface changes as the flaps extend/retract. i.e. from dead flat to curved. There are no variable (intermediate) positions between stowed and extended.

The 748 does however have gapped kruegers .And I always thought the 748 only had de-icing boots....

Thanks again everyone. I'm just trying to model it in a flight simulator project and it asks for angles. But knowing they have only one extended position really helps.
