I am looking for range information on Challenger 600 with and without Branson tanks. Specifically East Coast to West Coast and LA-Honolulu

I used to fly one of these aircraft and still have the training manual. The aircraft did not have a Branson tank.

If I may ask, what is the reason for your request?

Stay as far away from these turkeys as possible. The engines are junk, they have no power, the range isn't that hot, and the mx costs will eat you alive. Basically if you can't afford to buy a newer Challenger, you can't afford a 600 either. If you are not already operating one there is no economic argument to acquiring one! You'd best call Universal and find out how big that wet foot print is on that west coast - HI leg...

We're evaluating the 600 for options. We've got the book numbers but would prefer some feedback on actual experience with regard to range on those legs.

In today's market, a late 601 or better yet, a 604 would be an immensely better proposition. As was said, if you can't afford one of those, you won't be able to handle a 600.

I doubt it would do HI without a wet footprint, too. So, it's a "no go" there.

Seriouly don't make the 600 an "option". Saddling a client with one of these things is not good for ones long term employement prospects or repeat business. You can't do HI without wet foot print so it should be out anyways.

Some guys get stars in their eyes when they see how cheap a CL-600 or GII can be had for. There are a reason these airplanes are cheap! I forget to mention another reason not to buy one...when figure it out what a turkey it is the resale market tough on these old birds. Prepare to take a bath.

Challenger 300 would be a good option for you. Considering all the ownership costs I'm sure it will work out cheaper then a Challenger 600.

Unfortunately the 350K per year you save with the lower investment in the 600 versus the 601 pays for a lot of MSP and slight increase in maintenance cost. Resale not much of an issue with the current purchase price on the 600. It looks like a good option for a low flight hour user who wants a large cabin, Stage 3 and reasonable fuel efficiency. Would still like any feedback on actual experience with regard to fuel burn East Coast to LA. Thanks

Not getting into the pros and cons of the 600 as against other types, the passengers liked the wide cabin and the service.

We used to operate it between Sydney, Darwin, Manilla and other regions in South East Asia and it performed as stated in the operating manual.

The 600 hundred is a good example of why one should never buy/fly the A model of anything!
