Could anybody please assist, I am trying to obtain a list of Fokker 70/100 Acronyms. Have tried a search but no luck so far.

Not quite an acronym, but it has been referred to as Scud Missile - It launched OK but it's reliability was such that you never knew where it would land.

Acronyms: AFCAS (Avcas), TRP (Tee-r-Pee), MFDS (Muffties)

But what a lovely aircraft, an ergonomic delight to operate.

Yes, a gorgeous aircraft. Somoe involved in its flight testing didn't like it, but it had a touch of genius to its design...

Everything the A320 did, but with so much greater clarity, and none of the nonsense that over-engineering the flight controls brought about...

The man/machine interface was the finest I've ever experienced, exemplified by the FMA saying, for example, IASE to indicate that IAS is being maintained by the Elevator, as opposed to, for example, MT, showing Mach is being maintained by Thrust. Just brilliant, and I genuinely hope that if the NG aircraft does come about, I'll wangle my way onto one.

Just have to keep my trap shut at Toulouse about how brilliant it is!

The scud epithet was, I believe, not deserved... Tech problems I had were few and far between, and technical despatch rate in the right hands was pretty good.

You are all mad.

Silly eng displays; silly TLs movement; very early ice detectors on the wings (a strip of black paint)...

320/330s any day.

My first commercial jet. What a hooligan machine.:D Great fun for the pilots, but not as good for the cabin crew.

The speedbrake was a wonderful get out trouble device. Hi speed to short finals was tremendous fun.

As hamster said in many ways easier and more transparent than the bus. Loved it to bits, but it did need lots of TLC. Moving them from EMA where the engineers know them, to LHR where the guys were overstretched, was a complete disaster for reliability.

As for acronyms, try FMS TRP. :ok:

Ping! :hmm: Ping! Ping ! :uhoh: Ping ! Ping ! Ping!

Sorry, had to be said.

Best aircraft ever at going down, but pretty useless at going up (must be a nickname there surely ? ) and not so swift in the cruise, even compared to a 737 classic.

More powerful donks please, change the seat position (well for my size anyhow, never could get comfy) get rid of those bloody noisy air-con fans under my ass, and make the electrics reliable, then I could really love it.

Oh, and make sure the crew understand the meaning of tactile inspections, and what will happen with an unslatted wing if they don't (ask the Froggy crew)

Captplaystation's comments show that has more than a few hours on the beasties. I'd forgotten the "pings" and I totally agree with his comments regarding it's short comings. Let's hope the "new" one is actually built. I'd love to fly it (if it retains the airbrake and FMP).
