I need an advice from anyone with more experience on 206 or constant speed prop.
I operate in a place where I can't get proper help.
A 206 40 years hold with a new engine fitted, during t/ o cant get more than 2200 rpm everithing forward, at see level and 20 deg oat.
Maintenence said no problem, but they can't state that is the gauge that underread.
In the climb out after t/o the ROC reads 700' but the prop is still fully frw and it cant be decreased, straight and level performance looks ok, but still with prop fully frw.
Please any idea is welcome.

Might be good to chat to the maintenance guys and ask them to look again (prop governor settings). 2200 is too low!, I would abort the takeoff as the engine is not making power or the RPM indicator (tacho gen / gauge) is incorrect..

Are you getting full manifold pressure on takeoff?

There's another possibility - was the prop worked on? If the low-pitch blade stops are set too high, you have effectively a fixed-pitch prop on takeoff. The fact that cruise seems normal can be consistent with this.

I once sorted out a prop with the opposite problem - takeoff was OK, but the governor could not control the cruise to the desired RPM. We had to re-index the high pitch stops.

1970's 206? You can't have replaced the engine w/o Propellor r/r, so what's the story on the propellor? T/O with "rated" thrust in a Cessna 206 is not advised. Push in the Prop knob all the way? Seriously, without some data on the Prop, no sensible answers will appear. (How did you ever get off the ground with a mere 2200?).

The prop is new too.
Check list doesnt say anything about not using prop fully frw, but again here is a problem get info and material.
By the way if kindly anyone has anything in PDF would be a great help.

Have a quick look at the prop governor and check that the linkage just touches the max rpm screw with the prop control fully forward.

Can you hear the prop change pitch as the power is applied?
