Ladies & Gentleman,

May I ask you with a challanging question?

I own a Plane in the U.S. (please see my thread before) Flordia, N Registered and I want to Import it temporary, apr. one year into Asia.

I live in Thailand but I will stay just for one more year here. As importin into Thailand is a pain and I am tired of the slow and unprofessional procedues, I thought about importing the plane into Singapore.

I talked already to:
Seletar Flying Club - Flight School and Training (http://www.seletar-flying-club.org/contact.html)
Singapore Youth Flying Club (http://www.syfc.sg/contact.htm)
And the goverment Contact Us (http://www.customs.gov.sg/mis/con/)

Does anyone has real experiences with importing a N REGISTERED Plane, temporary into Asia/ Singapore? Could you quote me the Costs, please?

Thank you so mcuh in advance

take care

Deegan,

I have no idea how to do this, BUT - do you actually have to import it? Most countries have rules for visiting a/c on a foreign register, so that may offer a workaround, by, say, leaving Thailand every couple of months for a week or so.

Years ago there was a similar situation in Spain, where the Spanish DGAC got bossy with owners of non-Spanish reg'd a/c. Solution: fly them to Morocco (if based in the south) for a couple of days or so, then back into Spain.

Not the most convenient way of doing it, but as you say you'll be gone after a year anyway, might be worth looking into.

Yeah, Thank you, you are right- thats my intention. Just keep the plane cheap - close to me in Asia for one year. Thats my intention.
The Problem is, that the Plane arrives in a Container.

Maybe there is somebody who has experience in here?

What a great trip that would be from florida to Thailand even if the container is cheaper
