A320 LGCIU Malfunction Question?

Been reading FCOM 1.32.10.5 -

As is the norm with Airbus the FCOM information is criminally (imo) vague and confusing. Can anyone decipher into plain English, Pilot speak for me please the following.....

Failure of a proximity detector
- The LGCIU detects any electrical failure in a proximity detector, and signals the associated output to the flight position (shock absorber not compressed or landing gear uplocked).
-In case of mechanical failure the LGCIU does not modify the associated output. The effect that such a failure has on the system depends upon which condition is signalled incorrectly.

Electrical failure Of An LGCIU
- The system does not force the outputs of the failed LGCIU to the safe (flight condition).
. Some users will see "flight" condition
. Some users will see "ground" condition

could you please specify which part you would like us to explain?

Taking into account that airbus FCOMs don't go too deep into details (I have the feeling they don't want you to know confusing details) what is it exactly that you don' t understand?

"flight position" = "air mode" (shock absorber not compressed or landing gear uplocked)

the safe condition (as in every aircraft) is the "air mode" (flight condition or position or whatever)

"ground condition" = "ground mode"

No "weight on wheels" switches etc but "proximity detectors" here.

"users" = aircraft systems

-In case of mechanical failure the LGCIU does not modify the associated output. The effect that such a failure has on the system depends upon which condition is signalled incorrectly.If the operating LGCIU detects a failed proximity sensor the other LGCIU takes over.

Actually aristoclis explained it to you really nicely. I understand that if the LGCIU fails it may stay in either flight or ground mode, depending on the circumstances.
