View Full Version : Met Form 215 troubles

Hi all,

I’m in the process of studying for my Meteorology exam – I’m ok with most of the questions except those involving the identification of a correct zone when comparing a TAF or METAR against a Met Form 215. I’m using the PPL Confuser.

Some are quite obvious as they have distinctive vis distances, cloud types or cloud bases but others I get really stuck on – particularly when there are no immediate obvious features. This in fact could be my problem – that I’m missing the obvious feature. I have been studying these forms for a couple of weeks now and I’m still not finding a bullet proof way to confidently choose the right zone. I have a horrible feeling this is what will let me down in the exam (I’m due to take this next week).

I’d welcome any tips or advice that will help the penny drop.

Thanks!
