The small plane landed in a County Tyrone field
A pilot and one passenger have escaped serious injury after a light aircraft made an emergency landing in a field in County Tyrone.

Their small plane landed in a field close to the Pomeroy Road near Dungannon.

Local farmer, Kenny McClean, saw what happened. "I heard the plane coming over and you could hear it banging and clucking," he said.

"I ran out and saw it landing in the field just down the road a wee bit."

The two men were taken to Craigavon Area Hospital for treatment.

It is understood that their injuries are not serious.

Flew over the scene late this afternoon, from the available terrain the pilot made a good job of it, did the right thing and made a decision to release energy by removing the wings in a gap in the hedge.... the main thing is that all occupants live to fly another day.... the very reason why we pay insurance.
