Here are the steps: Apply for a restricted US PPL based on your JAA PPL Take the Instrument written test and pass an Instrument check ride Take the CPL written test and pass the CPL SE Checkride Pass the check ride for the CPL ME add on Apply for the restricted here: Airmen Certification: Verify the Authenticity of a Foreign License, Rating, or Medical Certification (http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/foreign_license_verification/) Depending on how current and proficient you are; assume app. 15-20 hrs of training for the Instrument rating. App. 10-15 hrs for the CPL SE App. 15-20 hrs for the CPL ME App. 30hrs of Ground school/briefing/debriefing time Exact cost obviously depends on where and when and what airplanes. |
