Aerobatic Instructors Seminar.

The British Aerobatic Association will be holding a seminar at Wellesbourne Mountford on the 20th and 21st of May for flying instructors who are authorised to teach aerobatics. Alan Cassidy will give a seminar that introduces competition style aerobatics as a development from the AOPA aerobatics course. The seminar on Wednesday evening at 17:00 will cover what happens at a competition, how performance is judged and how to fly the beginners sequence.

On the Thursday each participant has the opportunity to put the theory into practice, and fly a specially designed sequence under the guidance of an experienced competition pilot / instructor. Practice sessions and two critiqued flights will provide the participant with a real insight into the challenges and enjoyment of competition flying. Various aircraft will be available to hire at subsidised rates, including a Robin 2160, T67, Pitts S2A and an Extra 300. Each pilot will receive feedback on their sequences and the day will culminate in a review of critiqued flights, a prize giving and Barbeque.
The aim of the seminar is to provide instructors with a better understanding of competition flying and show how BAeA competitions provide a structured and progressive path to developing aerobatic skills in a safe and supportive environment.

In previous years it has proved a very successful and social event in the BAeA calendar and will provide participants with new skills and knowledge to pass on to their students.
Other pilots who are not instructors but who are new to competition aerobatics are very welcome to attend but please check availability. Registration is at 17:00 hrs on Wed 20th of May.
