Hi everybody,
I am looking for B737 Type Rating. How much could it cost: ground school and simulator?Where can I get the cheapest one?
Thanks.

Try Pan Am International Flight Academy, they offer a very cheap JAA 737 TR.

Price: 12 900 Euro ( includes both B737-300/400/500 and -700/800/900 package)

The required Touch and go (base check) are not included in the course package. Pan Am will schedule the basecheck after completion of the course.
The total cost is ~ 5 500 Euro/ 6 take offs and landings.

Good luck.

How much would a Captains rating (command rating) on the A320 be at the same center? Would appreciate the info..

Unfortunately I don't have that information, best bet is to fire off an e-mail to them via there website with what you're looking for, they get back to you in a couple of days.

I'd love to go flying with someone like you in the RHS.

someone who wasnt good enough to get a job via the normal route, your answer to this, pay for the CHEAPEST 737 rating you can find!

I can hardly wait!

Aeroservice, in Miami. Great people, very helpful, and they had an offer recently, 4500$
When I did it, last September, it was 7000$, everything included. Tehy helped me a lot and I didn't pay a single penny more. They even helped me for jobs, and now I am a lucky 737 driver :ok:

Must agree with adverse-bump on this one,

Yes, it's a thread drift, but do you honestly think buying the cheapest type rating you can get your hands on gives you access to that corridor leading to the RHS?

Think again.

Then again, I apologise sincerely if you, like a friend of mine recently, are deciding to get a type rating simply for the pure fun of it and as another life achievement. Make sure you do base training as well, otherwise you don't pass!

Cheers

In the days of Vladimir Ilyich, Aeroflot did not require Li-2 type ratings.
And a base in Irkutsk or Petropavlovsk were the only choice.
Yearly vacations - Two weeks in Novya Zemlya resorts in January/February.

In JAA land, there is no such thing as a "command" rating. A type rating course is taught to you as both the PF and PM.

Command upgrade courses are done in house with your own airline, once they give you the promotion.

You can't go do a "command" 737 type rating then go to an airline and be a captain having never flown the thing.

I found some good recommendations @ russian-speaking aviation forums about FTO "Sabenavita" in Lithuania, which does JAA approved TR 737 300-900 for a reasonable price and high quality. Has anybody done TR there?

Yes,I heard flyLAL-training center in Vilnius gives B737 TR for the less price, than Sabenavita.

Did PanAm a few years ago and it was fine nice people and good training. I had no problems with them.
