Hi All,
I would greatly appreciate some advice on how to get an "A/G Cert of competence".
Is there:
1. An official place where I can get some training
2. Can I pay for some 1 to 1 training (any offers, anywhere with 90mins of London)
3. Or is it just a question of studying the relevant CAP's.

Thanks for your help

You need to do both a written and a practical test with an approved examiner.

Hopefully the link will work. It is a list of examiners and there are lots around London.

Here's a link (PDF file) to the Aeronautical Radio Staion Operator's Guide (CAP 452) (http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/CAP452.PDF).

I did mine some years ago at Fairoaks Flight Centre. Their number is, I believe, 01276 858075.

It's a matter of studying CAP 452 along with CAP 413.
Then check on the CAA website HERE (http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/43/20090128AirGroundExaminersList.pdf) to see who in your area does the A/G exam in your area.
The exam is both written and practical and expect it to last at least half a day.
