No jokes please, and yes I'm well aware what's happening in the wider world, airline industry, flight training sector specifically, I've read about Cabair etc....

Just looking for an approximate idea (based on experience) of what a FT PPL FI can currently expect to take home, including, er, flight pay.

Many thanks.

Not a huge amount. It varies so much from place to place, some are on retainers, others work for 'flight pay' only. It's very seasonal as well, you could fly max hours during the summer and then go for days or weeks with little to do if the weather is bad during the winter, or any other time for that matter.

I've heard figures of anything between £10k and £20k.

I'm fully expecting to be stacking shelves in Tesco and being a part time FI when I qualify, unless anyone can tell me the job market isn't as dire as I have been lead to believe.

Things aint changed a great deal over the years judging by the above threads, and depends where you end up, expect anything from £9000 plus flight pay of around £8 to £14 ph, or salaried, anything from £14k to around £20k per year give or take at the moment..

2 schools where mates work have recently changed from salary, of £14k at both, one to basic £9k plus flight pay £8ph, another flight pay only £20ph..not a market to be negotiating in either at the moment and the new deals suit the schools if the market dips due to the current economic climate.
