Hi , was wondering if you can tell me of any private airfields near Birmingham. My friend is moving to Dickens Heath and asked me but I have no idea. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks VG

The best option is probably Wellesbourne near Stratford on Avon.

Welly M is probably the most convenient - closer than WolverpennyHamptonGreen Intergalactic or Coventry Baginton.

Nice friendly place as well!

Last time I was there, there was a bit of grass, a couple of tall trees, a windsock and a hanger. A new hanger was also in the process of being built.

Ah,
Stoke Golding, Know it well.
Excellent drainage, clear approaches, 525m long (slight slope at either end), great hangar (sadly no space from whay I gather).
Stoke Golding is truly what strip flying is all about, and is used by everything from weightshift microlights to twins.
The Stoke Golding Stakeout is one of the years must visit events.....

The big but though is....

It is just a little too far to travel to the final destination.
