While I was doing circuits yesterday afternoon and listening to Luton Radar (our airfield is withing Luton Zone) I heard an R44 pilot asking if Luton had heard anything about a hot air balloon going down to the East of Luton. They responded that they had had a request to look out for them and D&D had been informed. Anybody here heard anything?

Let's hope they're all safe but surely, balloons normally do land out?
(With luck the landing fee will only be the usual £50 to a farmer instead of the £750 at Luton).

I heard the landing fee has risen to £51. . .balloon flying is of course always subject to inflation.:ok:

I always understood that aeroplanes can be landed, you try to control the crash in a glider, but just plain CRASH a balloon wherever it decides to fall out of the sky.....:}
