Hi . I am a 18 year old New Zealand CPL holder(girl), I am interested in instructing in Australia.
What are the wages like? ie- per ground hour and per flying hour.
I have done the conversion Exams in India and can take ground classes for Indian students for the DGCA conversion .:ok:

Also what is the procedure for converison of a NZ license to an Australian license????

Thanks :)

All you need is money to convert to an Oz licence. Let your fingers do the walking and go to caa.govt.nz and look for TTMRA.

hey!!!
Well i am an Indian citizen . Didn't think it would be a problem bcz many instructors @ Canterbury Aero Club are from various parts of the world. Is it just difficult or impossible.

Actually i am more than keen on continuing in general aviation and instructing to me seems a good option as personally i think it is a highly satisfying job to see your student do well. And general aviation in India is not in a very good state at the moment. Although there r jobs there are a lot of other issues.:ugh:

Thanks so much for your guidance will definitely PM you.
thanks again

Thanks deepi_cool21! I also knew that I wanted to fly very young. My dad got his PPL when I was 1. Maybe that got into my blood. I was rejected by the local youth flying club that sponsors local school students for a restricted PPL. Thought my dream was over.

Then my dad gave me the green light to proceed down under to work on my PPL. Anyway, I don't intend to get my CPL. I guess I'll be joining the Air Force once I complete my studies.

Hi
Well u will have to convert your license to an Aussie license to begin with and get an instructor's rating (flight test and briefings ) .

Also i am not too sure if flying schools in Aussie consider American training standards as good as theirs , but anyway , best of luck...:ok:

If you have New Zealand PR, you will be able to work in Australia.

what age do you live in? I'm sure you're saying this in good faith, but it hasn't been so for at least couple years. I don't bother to research exact TOD for this rule, but due to abusing NZ as easy path towards OZ, it was stopped.

Only full NZ citizen (current waiting time 5 years residence - not even work permit anymore) can work freely in OZ. Or, OZ residents/citizens can work in NZ freely, but that's because Aussies don't bother going to that wee place where all the youngsters run from right down to OZ or UK..

Deepi, sort it whichever way you want, but being pilot is NOT skilled job in ANZSCO list. I talked about this with a guy that's been doing some charter/air taxi on working holiday (Brit) in OZ in another thread. Too lazy to find it.

Hm, bit envious (I'm working on rotary career, slowly), but I wish you all best. If you're cute, fairly easy way is to be in LTR with Aussie citizen. No need to marry at all, common law relationship (even unmarried couple, not just same sex) is handy. One year of living in genuine relationship (with paper trail), submit residence visa application, you'll get it after another year.
No residence requirements.

Voila.

Not very known. I had such idea if I had got into Dubai and had some Asian Aussie girls around :-D /I know, I'm just a man/
I could only sort papers for UK for my future wife from around the world at the mo :-P Australia is great for gliding as well. Aaah, so lovely.

There are a lot of jobs going in Aus for instructors, however due to the paperwork required, most schools would rather hire an Aus/NZ citizen (or at least with work rights). It is common to get hired on a student visa for 20hrs or less a week, have heard of a few people doing that, and I know a couple who've been sponsored but only 1 or 2. Get in touch with the schools in aus that interest you and ask them about it. Also try D&G for more local information.

eph6 - easiest if you have right to live and work here. You would obviously have to convert from JAA to Aus as well, but easily done through most schools.
