After buying G-BETG in March and taking her over to Ireland in March, the type has gathered quite a following here for its STOL/Cruise performance. I wanted to see did any PPRune followers know if there were any other C180's for sale in the UK at the moment. Nothing advertised at the minute from searching all the ad's but, if there is someone you can think of who wants to sell, ideally a 1964 180G through to 1981 180K would you drop us a PM.

Also anyone with any history/stories/photo's of G-BETG would be really appreciated. Gather she had quite a history before I bought her.

Thanks for the lead Bose-X. Could you PM us any details, even the Reg or the shop doing the work and we'll get in touch. Its quite a specialized machine, does n't suit everybody - but we get 3 people/bags/fuel into a 300m one way airstrip to go fishing and always get stopped by the halfway point. When you can cruise at 135kts on the way, it really is hard to beat as a STOL tourer. The 185 is a bit sore on fuel to do the same job, almost at the fringe of affordability for private use.

Thanks

Yep no problem. I should be out to Guernsey in the morning so will take some pics while I am at the airfield and let you have them, also the contact details for the sale.

I did take rather a fancy it to myself, the restoration job on it is outstanding.

Hi , there is a 185 skywagon at Blackpool, it has an io-470 fitted if the 180 does not turn up trumps ? Blackpool Air Centre (http://www.blackpoolaircentre.com/) look under aircraft sales.

Irish,

I took a couple of pics of the 180 for you earlier as promised. Sorry for the poor quality. I did not get a chance to find the owner details for you yet. I will try and do it this week and PM them to you. I have a few other pics as well if you want them.

Thanks Bose X, you've really gone out of your way here. Had a look and found the details on G-Info. She's on of the early models, a 1955. There were lot of changes over the model years, as well set out here:

modelchgsweb (http://www.skywagons.com/modelchgsweb.html)

Ideally looking for something from 1964 onwards with the 3 Window/C185 fuselage, and the conventional type instrument panel. The older model would be a lighter sweeter flying one all the same, but some of the model improvements were desirable. Know we cant be so fussy in a UK/Europe search but if we struck gold once.....

Thanks a million
