A friend of mine wants to do differences training in respect of c/s prop and retractable undercarriage.

I have access to a cheap (ish) N reg Arrow.

Anyone know whether I am allowed to provide JAA differences training in an 'N' reg aeroplane?

The JAA do not make stipulations like that but the UK Govt do. If you are unremunerated and no fee is paid for the hire of the aeroplane you can do it, but if any money changes hands, it becomes aerial work in a foreign reg aircraft and requires a DFT approval. You can easily obtain this for the owner on of the aircraft but not for anyone else. The DFT number is 0207 9445847

Since it's N-reg, PIC has to have a logbook "complex airplane" endorsement from an authorized instructor. I'm assuming you're a UK FI with an FAA ticket. Don't know how the UK will recognize the hours, but FAA won't let your student log any PIC.

Thanks for that.
