With respect to the SPANAIR accident and what MAY have caused it, pushing that little button before take off should be SOP.......

Yes per SOPs from the A310 to the A320/19/21 and A330/340.:ok:

Yes, used to use it on the A300B4 as SOP, and now on the A320. Can't think of a reason you wouldn't use it?

On our A300-600 we do the check before every TO......

yes, we press it before every departure. But even if you don't, the same "test" will be perform automatically when the pilot applies take-off power.

Yes but I'm afraid the t/o warning may fail (SPANAIR?)

If the test via button fails you know something is wrong.
