Boeing BBJ/CL/NG

I was organizing my Boeing FCOM/FCTM PDF manuals today, and came across several items I would like to have clarified if anyone can assist me with this.

On the cover of the B737 manuals, the aircraft models are listed on the title page as either 737-BBJ, 737-300/400/500, or 737-600/700/800/900 models. The only exception to this classification is the Boeing 737-BBJ. It is also shown as the Boeing 737-NG on the FCOM itself.

My questions are as follows:

Are *all* of the Boeing 737-345's classified as "classic" (CL) models?

Are *all* of the Boeing 737-6789's classified as "new generation" (NG) models?

Are Boeing 737-100/200 models also classifed as "classic" (CL) models?

One of the FCOM's is titled "Boeing 737-8AS." Would this be a 737-800 model? How did Boeing arrive at the "8AS" designation?

Yup, this is a B737-800..

8AS would be a B737-800 ment for delivery Ryanair:

The last 2 character points out the customer.
B737-8 AS = Ryanair
B737-3 30 = Lufthansa
