Not sure if this is relevant to anyone else but the last few times i have tried to fax my vfr fpl to manchester their fax never seems to respond

I'm using the current number listed in my 2008 pooleys (0161 499 5504) also confrmed by phone.

Its happened over the last few weeks, i know my fax is working fine as i sent the GAR forms off last night with no issues and sent a copy of the fpl via fax to scottish acc in the hope it gets into the system.

any one else with the same problem?

I think the Manchester flight plan office closed in March. The start of the relocation of Manchester Radar controllers to Prestwick.

I do all my flight plans online now, great service.

I've had the same problem with the Manchester fax. I thought it was due to the volume they're handling but I can't recall it ever being as bad as it has been recently.

it was strange, i called manchester and they took my plan over the phone, last night when i get back i called leeds to close my plan as manchester weren't on the phone,

the lovely lady on the line said apparently manchester are due to close at the end of this month with all flightplans being sent to swanick from now on.

I didnt get a fax number, however swanick can be contacted on: 0845 601 0483 for any more info

hope it helps :ok: though i dont recall being told in the past manchester fpl were shut/closing

Manchester Flight Planning closed at 0001/01July 2008. I am informed that
all parental and non-internet flight planning responsibilities have been transferred to Heathrow FBU with immediate effect.

any chance this could be made a sticky or a notice posted to let others know? :D

could save others the stress of sending a fax to a machine that wont answer, or call manc to close a fpl when no one is home :bored:
