MEL/CDL penalty sometimes requires reduction in PERFORMANCE LIMITED EN ROUTE CLIMB WEIGHT. For instance per CDL item 78-31-2:(PW equipped B744Pax)
Fan Thrust Reverser Blocker Doors, if missing requires reduction in En Route Climb weight by 2100lbs and increase in flight planning fuel by 0.53% ). Where can I find this weight to apply the limitation?

Thnx

Where does your MEL say to find the information? They should know what performance charts you are supplied with and reference them accordingly.

Flight Planning and Performance Manual or the QRH (inflight performance section)

Would it not mean that, say for example your normal limit climb weight for a step climb was 650,000lbs then with this MEL applied it now becomes 650,000-2,100= 647,900lbs? That is, another 10 minutes in the cruise.

I think that is the answer. Thnx. Does that mean that in real life when we have FMC displaying step to next alt....NOW to wait 10 more minutes or so...

This penalty is applied to Single Engine Net Ceiling due increasing of drag.

Galahad,

On the 400 there is no single engine ceiling charts. It's from the all engine cruise data, or at worst 3 engine cruise data.....:ugh:

PS,

I should say one engine inoperative net ceiling.
I don't have 744 FPPM but I thought you'll find this in Driftdown Section.

kind regards,

Thats the great thing about the mel. They tell you what they want you to do but not the how! You need to get your airline to include the HOW in the preamble.
Galahad is right, correction is applied to engine out alt capability. Idea is that with extra drag, you wont get so high so you must protect your ability to clear enroute terrain.
