the purpose of a LC is to confirm that you're doing your stuff right = safe = as the book intends it. it is no longer a quiz hour where the checker tortures you with questions. you can fail by messing up your approach.
the checker should give you a feedback on what you could do EVEN better and not just tell you: ok, passed, see you next year.
we also get a questionaire that covers some systems about half a year before the linecheck with 10-20 multiple choice questions. hand in the answer sheet on the day.

This is my definition of Line Check = a normal line operation which includes checking, verifying and discussion in order to achive the standard required by company. The checker will normally look into the following criteria:

Safety - Paramount !!! MUST be executed within company's SOP/NP and documents. e.g. If you could not achieve stabilised criteria by the stipulated height in your SOP, don't hesitate to go around.

Efficient - The most effective way with minimun cost (climb to opt level ASAP, track shortening etc ...)

Relevant - Anything that relevant to your operation should be observed. Remember, there are million ways of flying an aeroplane, however, the right way is your Company's way.

Knowledge - Knowledge of aircraft system and company policy is essential. Limitations and Recall item must be memorised by heart.

Leadership - This quality should be evident at all time regardless your rank.
