Today something happened to me that I hope never will happen again...

We had flown from ESGP (Gothenburg, Sweden) to ESMS (Malmo, Sweden) with an En-route diversion to ESTL (Ljungbyhed, Sweden) in a PA-24 Commache with registration SE-IKF.

After a 2,8 hour flight we were at 3000 ft on radar vectors for ILS RWY 19 on ESGP. I swithced the marker beacon indicator to on, on the audio panel... about 5-6 seconds after that I felt this sharp burning smell of rubber and plastic and a white haze appeared in the cockpit.

I reported to ATC that we made and immediate desced towards the runway at the same time as my instructor took the controls and flew the aircraft to a normal landing.

This happened at 16:08 UTC today in Gothenburg TMA, Sweden.

Well done the pair of you for getting down safely.

Another good example of why we should wear Nomex & gloves IMHO!
