Hi guys,
Apologies if this is the wrong forum - it seemed the most appropriate place...
Is there a digital map format/database out there that is open and freely available with VFR/IFR data?
To give a little background - I am in the process of creating a MMD/navigation system for an experimental UAV. I would like to include a moving map system, but all the commercially available aviation products (Jeppesen/Memory-Map CAA etc etc.) are "locked" (understandably) to their respective software. I wish to integrate the charts in the custom software application I am developing (along with METAR weather info etc.).
I heard about DAFIF, but that format has now been withdrawn from the public forum. Is there an equivalent (vector) format?
