I thought this looked great and would be a good one for when I retire - bit of flying, bit of diving, few beers in the sun;)
- then I found out how hard these guys work! 6 day weeks with 12 sector days is what I was told, also of course a lot of baggage shifting - or was he just trying to keep it to himself?:}

I came back 2 weeks ago! It looks hard work, but lovely! The pilots all wear green shorts and are barefoot at all times. Takes 2 hands on the overhead levers- the copilot seems to back off the thrust and adjust the pitch shortly after lift off (I operated RR Darts which only used one set of levers). Although idyllic, they frequently get some very big weather there- we were forced down by a storm and had to ride it out moored to a floating pontoon on a deserted island- it got extremely rough while we rode it out for nearly an hour. I believe the guys do work very hard, but it didn't stop the young ones from clustering like flies around the First Choice (I think) stewardesses around the pool of the Hulhule Hotel at Male! Flying actually looked fairly tedious just following GPS out to various islands and back again- all hand flown, very hot, sweaty and NOISY!

Maldives are PFM. Go quick- they'll be gone in 50 years.

*Maldives or North Wales? Dang me- that's a hard one. Can't bear weird foreign accents or hostile, ugly natives. Yup, guess it will have to be Maldives!

AAhhh, the global warming thing where ice melts and like magic the volume becomes more than water in its origional form.

I thought maybe the Maldives would be gone as far as inhabitants were concerned because I have it on good faith that Jesus is coming back in 30 years from now.

So either way I guess now is the time to visit them before it is to late. :sad:

errr...no, the expansion of sea water due to temp rise is more significant then melting ice caps.
