Not too familiar with the MD series. Do the following planes allow the same type rating and only require a differences check (like the 757 and 767)?

MD88 and MD90?

Does the MD11 or L1011 have a type rating with another a/c?

Hi

MD80/90 is the same type rating, but to fly the 90 you require a difference course. Engines, brakes and electrics are different (among other things).

Great, thanks. That is what I assumed, but you know what happens when one does that.

Somewhere (perhaps it was at www.jaa.nl (http://www.jaa.nl)) I have seen a list of a/c types that are on the same rating, and what types that need a diff. course, check it out if you want more!

DC 9 type rating covers: DC9-10 series, -21, -30 series -41, -51, -80 series, B717, and MD90. Quite a wide range of airplanes:ok:

The L1011 is a unique type rating (as well as being quite a unique aeroplane, in many ways) and the MD11 is also a separate type rating.

IE: not combined with others.

What about the DC-10s with pilot cockpit retrofitted (MD-10)? Is MD-10 and MD-11 type rating separate?

Complete list, perhaps not up to date.
