Hi all,

I am just about to start type rating for the MD80, and have laid my shaky hands on a speed booklet.

In each Take Off speed section, there is a speed called "Vp" which I have never heard of before (that is, they don't bring it up in ATPL-studies..). Have gone through my performance books, as I have not yet received any manuals, nothing found.

Any help in this is greatly appreciated!

md80,
check if your speed booklet is not a french translation/version, because every frenchie knows that "Vp" = "vitesse propre" = true airspeed(TAS).
vitesse = speed in englisch.
propre, can have several means : clean, opposite of dirty or also "your own".
e.g." votre propre maison est propre", your own house looks clean.
enjoy your md80 = pilots plane(after 6 months on the line that is)
kind regards,
bm
