Not sure about geometry. What is the short for wind speed?
Airmiles would be ground miles multiplied by GS/TAS. And since GS is TAS plus wind speed... Of course, the matter gets more complicated with the crosswind components.

NAM= (NM*TAS)/GS
NAM airmiles
NM ground miles
