What licence do I need to be able to rent a Norwegian registered aeroplane and fly it in Norway? I hold US and JAA tickets, and will be working in Bergen for most of 2007 and hope to rent something while I'm over there.
Cheers

Hi I flew out of of a small grass strip just north of a town called Os (pronounced OOS) in the '80's. Very friendly bunch...
Here's their website http://www.oak.hl.no/
Theres a map at the bottom of the page..looks like things have changed since I was there..
As you arrive in the airport at Bergen, one of the clubs elderly gliders is hanging above your head.
I hope you enjoy your year there.. great city...should be back there myself this summer.

Hello from a wet Norway!

I`m just south of Bergen in Stavanger. I have a JAR PPL obtained in the states and use that here. Just required a check from the club and off I go. Prices are cheaper here then in the UK and no landing fees are an added bonus.......

PM me for more details

Thanks for the replies....

Cool, so a JAR PPL should be good enough. I know Stavanger well and have spent many great nights there, (as well as Bergen)....so it should be a fun year ;)

Cheers

Thanks, will do. I was once kidnapped by a crazy girl in Stavanger......She took me for some Fore Play.....(It is what Norwegians do before they go out ;) ). Fun town....
