Lowrance 600C Vs Garmin 96c

HI I'm thinking of buying one of the above but cannot make my mind up which one to go for, so hopefully one of you can do so for me.


The lowrance seems like the better option wit its extra features and cheaper price???


Both of these come with detailed maps of the US but what about Europe?? do u have to download the maps from The Net or do they come on a CD. :confused:

I'm not familiar with the Lowrance but avoid the 96c - although it's cheap I find the screen size too small to be practical on a yoke mount; the graphics are a little basic as well. Mine's ready for e-bay............

I have the Lowrance 1000 - bigger B&W screen but basically same software - and love it, so I'd think the 600c would be good. ISTR the 600c comes with the terrain features as well...?
