A successful forced landing was carried out by the pilot of a Cessna 172 on a golf course near Cupar in Fife at the weekend. It seems that the enging failed suddenly. The pilot was talking to Leuchars at the time. No body was hurt and there was no damage to the AC (or the greens). Well done David.

That's good news for the pilot.
I bet the round of drinks that he had to buy was expensive.

It's a credit to him that he got it down safely.

Another ten miles or so and he could have had a choice of courses - old or new.

I wonder whether he will have to appear before the committee :) .

Whilst I am pleased nobody was hurt and the flyer 'David' did well to put the 'gro' bag down safely I am afraid a little birdy suggests that the same machine was seen to take off leaking a clear liquid at some concernig rate. Can this rumour be scotched? No doubt the engineers can verify this point at 'routine engineering'.

I hope and trust that nobody would be so silly as to take off with such a fault- TWICE??
