Had a very warm welcome at Sibson yesterday (and what a day for flying!) but was too polite to ask..... whats with the stealth hangar behind the car park?
All painted skunk-works black, with silvered-out windows, a big shiny fence all around, entry phones, CCTV, big "F*** Off" notices. The gate wasn't big enough for an aircraft to go in or out....
So what goes on in there then? There must be some good rumours on the field. If it is something sneaky it's a darned obvious way to attract attention to it.
(And there was a sorry-looking DUKW parked in the weeds next to it just to add to the atmos.)
Just curious you understand

Forget - thanks.
You have put my mind at ease.

Very understandable that, if they sell security systems as well as IT support, that they should show max security at their office, but....

....I was hoping for Peterboroughs own Area 51 or cessna cloning experiments or secret CAA "thought police" nicking pilots before they'd even had time to run out of fuel. Now that would have been fun!

When I get my 700m grass strip I will be looking for a stealthy hangar too; one not visible to Planning Enforcement :)

Does anybody know if an underground hangar contravenes planning? (let's ignore the aircraft moving issue; there's a J Bond solution to that)

A special version of

perhaps?
If you don't tell them they won't know, apart from the give-away rubber palm trees.
