Awww what a sad end to an otherwise lovely day & in one of the nicest areas of the country.
I heard 'Rescue 122' talking to Valley whilst enroute to a downed aircraft at approx 1830.

We found the a/c just inside the mist line about 100 feet short of the ridge. Witness alleged to have said she heard a bang from the engine and then silence.
Her call (with relevant details) to the police may have saved the survivors life.

Sad day for GA.

2 good friends of mine fly from Shobdon a lot, I'm dreading the next news update.

I know quite a few people at both airfields - used to live in North Wales, and did my PPL(H) at Shobdon. If anyone knows who was involved, please can they send me a pm.

This mornings news. I had intended going to Shobdon today, not sure now whether to or not.

Just used the Link from the entry above. The "Passenger" has been named. A great enthusiast. A man who I would call a friend when I worked for him years ago. In addition to the "Pay" I got as an instructor he also gave me a lot of free flying. He was a real help to me in getting me where I am now. Thanks mate. Aviation has lost a good man. RIP.
