I am taking my mum out in the plane from Blackpool on Sunday and want to take her to a nice pub or restaurant but it has to be very near to an airfield as she cant walk very far.

We were going to go to Castle Kennedy in Scotland but the airfield is closed to visiting big planes that day as they have a model aircraft competition on.

Can anyone suggest a good airfield that we can go into in the Bonanza (750 metres approx) that has a nice eating facility nearby within short walking distance.

Thanks in advance.

How about Fife Airport (Glen Rothes) PPR 700m. Restaurant is at the end of the apron.:ok:

There’s a hotel at the end of the peri-track at Kirkbride on the South Bank of the Solway. It can get quite busy Sunday lunchtimes. http://www.kirkbrideonline.co.uk/info.htm (http://www.kirkbrideonline.co.uk/info.htm)

Alternatively, you could consider flying to Prestwick and take a mini-cab the 15miles or so to the Sorn Inn or 5 miles to the Wheatsheaf Inn at Symington (both of which always seem worth the effort)?

Ah I know about Kirkbride. We have done that one before and are keeping that in reserve as we can taxi to the door.
