So we've seen the A318 get in to EGLC...but is the embraer 190 going to be approved for london city? the E170 can, so why not the E190?

rumour or news?

The E170 needs to be specified from new for EGLC operations, I think it needs extra spoilers at the back.

E170 has a full load max range of about 500nm from EGLC so the E190 (with engines that aren't a lot bigger than the 170s) will struggle to get any worthwhile range from EGLC.

And a mere detail - the 170 isn't yet approved for either steep approaches or for LCY, so it's not there yet. 190 would most likely be awful - remember the A318 has much more powerful engines and a much bigger wing than the 190.

E170 did the trials (last year ?), I saw it on the ramp at LCY. What has been the issue since ? Some technical problem or did the interest go away ?

AFAIK, it wa a purchase option for SWISS, they cancelled the order. I dont know of anyone else who has requested the option.
