The planners have decided almost certainly that Grove airfield (http://www.multimap.com/map/photo.cgi?lat=51.605&lon=-1.440&scale=25000&icon=x) is to become another housing estate. I know there has been no activity at Grove for years (though you have to watch out for Pumas & Merlins using it as a handy VRP), but as long as it was still farmland I couldn't help holding out hope that it might be re-used one day.
Sad? Or am I just unrealistically nostalgic?
