I am trying to find out what the dimensions of the protection area are for a cat B aircraft doing an NDB approach.

Anyone have any ideas or where i can get a copy of Doc 8168 Vol 11

Thanks

The fact you say 'protection area' indicates you are not a pilot; it's called 'Final Approach Area'.
Briefly its a quadrilateral 2.5nm wide at the MAPt, splaying 10.3 deg to the FAPt.

Are you talking about obstacle protection area for the transmitter, the area assessed for design of instrument flight procedures (as your reference to 8168 v2 would indicate) or the electromagnetic protection areas to be considered?

For the obstacles, remember that you have primary and secondary areas to consider. Also the location of the missed approach point can be critical in procedure design, but if you do not design in accordance with best practice, watch out! Remember to set the VDP and so on.
