Hi,
Anyone using tripod for camera in order to video the flight?

I thught to use camera to film my lectures (kind of visual logbook :) ).

I want to put it at the backseat (Cessna 172) by using tripod. Anyone with any other ideas or idea how to mount the camera in best possible way?

I have searched forum but no instruction could I find.

Thanks!

It is done easily with rear seat seat belts. Actual setup depends on your tripod configuration. Also make sure to lock the autofocus, as some cameras tend to 'hunt' the focus in low contrast lighting.
For the note, I simply mounted my camera on the left side wheel step (C172) with nylon socks, securing it with steel wire and it worked out just fine :) (see the personal videos sticky).

I have a device which is basically a G-cramp with a standard camera mount screw on a lockable ball joint.

I bought it about 20 years ago but they are probably still around.

Add a cable release and off you go.
