Are Oxford's JAA PPL CD-ROM ground school course package any good?

Has anyone used them before and found them to be worth the money?

Also, are they a complete replacement for the groundschool so no tuition is needed, preparing you for the actual JAA PPL ground exams.

Thanks in advance

Master Yoda,

I have used the Oxford CDs on:-

a) Met,
b) RT (including the UK supplement) and
c) Whizzwheel.

Certainly they were useful for getting a quick initial grasp of the central themes of the subjects concerned.

I would not, however, consider them to be an adequate alternative to reading books and/or attending courses (especially for ATPL) as they do not cover all the ins and outs of the subjects concerned.

Whether they are good value for money is a matter of opinion. Bearing in mind the specialised nature of the material and the limited production runs in which they are probably produced, I doubt if they could have been offered much cheaper than they are.

Best regards,

Broomstick.
