F-27-500

I'm doing some research on the F-27-500 and would greatly appreciate some info on her performance in particular, fuel burn at low level at 145kts and secondly at FL200 at 220kts. If both of these figures are unknown then an average fuel burn would suffice.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the dog whistle, use of the term "performance" juxtaposed with the Type ... is a bit of a long call ... ?

I didn't fly the 500 but there should be any number of ex EWA guys around who can give you the data requested ...

Can't recall the low level burn, but from memory about 720Kg/hr. in the mid to high teens. FL200 was not often achieved unless warranted by long sector length.

With the Dart 532-7R MOD 1860 engines, ISA:

@5000 ft IAS 222kts TAS 243kts FF 944 kg/hr
@20000ft IAS 167kts TAS 230kts FF 628 kg/hr

-Power setting: 14200RPM 715 deg C

...as per the flight manual.

hmmmm... this post call for looking for some long lost (and probably damaged) files way in the back of my head.
F27-200/500s were the first types I flew as an airline pilot. At the time, GREAT AIRPLANES!

In retrospect... everything that could possibly malfunction did. And frequently.

Fuel issues were interesting on our fleet.

Fuel quantity indicators..... in pounds
Fuel dipsticks..................... in Imp. gallons
Fuel receipt........................ in liters
Fuel on loadsheet...............in Kgs.

Yet I never heard of an incident of misfuelled airplane. Probably covered up
