Hi,

This photo is taken from one of the very latest
737NG's produced and it has a Collins autopilot.

My question is - where did the VNAV button go?

Doesn't Southwest have the auto throttle and VNAV disabled to ensure ease of swapping of crews between the 200/300 and 700?

Dumb idea in my opinion, god invented all this good gear - to deliberately not use it is bizarre!

Yep

aren't Southwest responsible for the NG being such an out of date dog of a thing instead of a modern up to date aeroplane similar to the 777? They made Boeing leave the same overhead panel for dual type rating. It would have had EICAS and everything otherwise!!:(

The VNAV button is blanked off between the IAS/MACH and HEADING windows. See here for the 'complete' panel: http://www.b737.org.uk/glareshield.htm
