Differences between 742 & 743

I am enquiring about the differences between the B747-100, 200 & 300. There seem to be very few 100’s floating around, except in the desert. Are they all the same systems but just stretches and payload increases? Now, what about type ratings? If I do a TR on a 200, will that cover a 300? Is it the same for FE as well?

All 747-100 through -300 series are covered by the same type rating, though there are many differences in engines, weight imits, and configurations even within each series.
