I have a JAA CPL/IR. I have around 1,000 hours, gained by Flight Instruction, and I am now teaching CPL and single engine IR.

We have applied to emmigrate to Canada and this application is being processed. This application is not based upon my flying qualifications (thankfully).

However once in Canada I would like to do some flying/instruction. What is required to convert my licenses, and what is the job situation like for flying instructors. We would be in the Vancouver Island area.

Thanks for any feedback.

PS Can anybody provide details of flying schools in the Vancouver Island area please.

Have a look at the Transport Canada website. They're the equivalent of the CAA but with responsibility for all forms of transport.
