I heard that JetsGo is looking for operations controllers/flightdispatchers. Does anyone know if they would hire a hard working German guy like myself as well???
How can I get a job in Canada from here (Germany) anyway. Dont want to immigrate without having a job. I never get an answer if I apply somewhere. Why is that???? My wife/daughter are both Canadians. I have more than 10 years dispatch experience and a valid "german" licence.
Any information appreciated. Thanks.

I had a friend, a seasoned Dispatcher, go for a interview, after the tour of the SG OCC she never returned the call for the job offer.

Hey Jimknopf,

Forget those Iambirdog and ODGUY a**es, they don't know what they're talking about because they don't work there! .

Send me a PM I'll set you up.

Thank goodness I don't 'pay' to work there...I value my life just as much as you value your bad grammar. :ok:

I can't believe you are steering this guy in the wrong direction. I guess the apple does not fall far from the tree.

I am Birddog,

First of all if you do not like my grammar I must say I am doing my best since english is my second language (Yes, some of us in this country are open minded enough to learn the other official language.)

Secondly what do you know about Jetsgo? Do you know anybody who works there? have you ever flown or worked with current Jestgo employees? I mean there are over 1500 of them, if you know so much about this company, as your posts presume, you ought to know somebody, right...

The reality is you don't; everything you know about Jetsgo is from forums like these and for whatever reason you are throwing dirt at the company, its owner and its people without knowing what you are talking about. There are a few people like you on this canadian forum and frankly it's at times funny to see how misinformed you are and at the same time quite pathetic to see how forceful you are at bashing at an airline that has people, just like you, trying to make a living doing what they are passionnate about, flying.

I am not going to tell anybody that a dispacth job at Jestgo is the best job ever; the company is expanding rapidly, very young at 21/2 years old, and there are still i's to dot and t's to cross. However, I WILL POINT THEM IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION SO THEY ARE ABLE TO MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION SHOULD THEY CONSIDER A POSITION.

Enough said, I'll wait for the dirt in your next reply, just to see how much more you can throw at Jetsgo despite my attempt to make you realize it's not going to take you anywhere.:ok:

Well done, Quebecer...When Birddog attacks Jetsgo, he's really attacking the people that work there, not simply some abstract caricature of a struggling airline he'd like to portray it as being. Birddog can be found on all the forums regurgitating half baked rumors and spewing intellectual phlegm by the bucketful in an attempt to debase Jetsgo.
I can only surmise that he doesn't work or have a family or even a girlfriend. Maybe he interviewed at SG and was passed over for other better qualified people. He certainly harbours an odd visceral hatred for this company that is difficult to understand unless it is rooted in some personal grudge. Whatever it is, I am just amazed at the time and effort he expends in slagging SG on the internet. In any case, Jetsgo seems to set him off-it sticks in his craw.
If Jetsgo really is just a bumbling little airline bound for failure anyway, why is he so worked up about it? It'll put itself over the edge without his help, won't it? Well, maybe BD is not so sure...
Jetsgo has its problems, and it certainly dropped the ball big time last month. But, there are fixes in the works. And we should not forget the great successes this jaunty little airline has had in the past, or how far it's come in only 2 and 1/2 yrs!
Those of us who work there should strive to fix its problems, but let's not have the likes of BD and their malevolent ravings bring us down or cause us to lose sight of what we've accomplished so far.

Yes I have to apologize for my lack of sensitivity toward your challenges encountered with speaking 2 (two) languages.

I too find myself in that position because I ONLY speak 4 (four) languages and cannot be prolific in all of them. Please accept my deepest apologies. :hmm:

faireydelta & Quebecer

I find it amusing that you preach that I expend all this energy on the fact you like to state that I spend too much energy denouncing JetsGo's business practices, and those pilots that use the crutch in justifying the denigration of our Canadian industry by whoring themselves just to get a job flying. What I post is not for you...it's for those that are thinking about applying there for employment. It's for the kids are still in flight school aspiring to be airline pilots one day, and the decisions they choose to make.

Just the mere discussions that has been generated in flight decks down to flying schools around this nation with regards to sheep like yourselves and the damage you have instilled into our industry, is enough for an awareness wake up call that continued contributions to the destruction of lifestyle you have so exampled will be the end of a lifestyle many pilots ALL are trying to attain. Are you not yet done paying out money??

The fact is, what I know about JetsGo's behind closed-door-business practices is none of your concern. However the information of what I know will not put anything down here in writing. If you wish to meet with me in YYZ…PM me and I will pass along my # when you have an overnight here. I have offered this to other JG pilots in other Canadian forums, and have yet to get a reply. Until I get a call to meet for a few beers and discuss what I know, in a private environment, I have neither the stomach to tolerate sheep like yourselves, as I do with the cancer you call your employer.

Have you no scruples? Have you no spine? You defend a man that is laughing at you. You defend a lifestyle at JetsGo that has no worth.

Everything you know in life...is wrong
Everything you do in life...is wrong

My offer has a limited time. :ok:

In fairly assessing blame for the denigration of or destruction of pilot's lifestyles, then one would have to admit this spiral started well before Jetsgo's existence and could even be traced as far back as deregulation. As I recall, Jetsgo did not start the practice of paying airline pilots 60k for the left seat of a Boeing in this country. That began a few years ago with another low cost airline. Initially, that airline's arrival is what really upset the apple cart in this industry and agueably expedited Canadian's demise and of course helped bring about Air Canada's restructuring that forced even their pilots into curtailing career expectations (and the curtailing will continue, most likely).
Jetsgo is not the first airline of its type to require payment for training in one form or another. Southwest requires candidates to have type ratings before even deigning to look at their resumes. In Europe, Easyjet and Ryanair both bond their pilots up front. Young pilots there view paying for a type certificate as the next logical progression in the professional pilot's educational continuum ( beyond the basic Comm/Multi/IFR).
Jetsgo is alone to offer the chance to have the money refunded, with interest in return for a modest show of loyalty (2 yrs). Say what you will about ML, but he ran Royal for years without contracts or bonds and let's just say he learned the hard way what a pilot's handshake is worth...
So I really don't buy your aguement about Jetsgo being responsible for your sliding lifestyle. And blaming pilots for accepting work for less money (or for paying up front bonds) is to ignore the simple market forces at work in the industry at this time and is blatantly unfair to professional pilots who are merely caught up in the current turmoil and are just trying to feed their families.
Pilots don't set the renumeration scales/conditions they will work under, market forces and industry weakness/health do. Get that straight and maybe you'll stop ****ting on your fellow pilots. Remember, alot of the guys now at Jetsgo were previously working for charter/domestic companies earning six figures and had what they thought was their dream job...I was one. We all had to pick ourselves up, some of us in our late forties or fifties, dust ouselves off and start over. To expect anyone to voluntarily bow out of a career at its low ebb because to return to work for lower wages and poorer conditions would mean somehow dishonouring the profession or lowering everyone else's lifestyles (as you go on about) may sound like the noble thing to do to the obtuse, such as yourself, but that just ain't the way human beings behave.
So come off your high horse and just hope you'll never be faced with that kind of brick wall in front of your own high flying career.
And by the way, I'd sooner spend an evening plucking out my eyelashes one by one than go through the trouble of looking you up for an evening of revelry spent being lectured about purported "insider business practices" at Jetsgo.

I find it curious that you speak of deregulation here when no one has ever mentioned it before untilI brought up the subject on another Canadian website (http://www.avcanada.ca/forums2/viewtopic.php?t=4641&start=25) that I know you visit. In fact I think you don't know a thing about the Canadian deregulation story.

As for the rest of your post...I find it to be very sad. This subject has been argued to death on the other website...I have nothing further to say...I only hope no one gets hurt over there...because what I know is very disturbing. From whom I know it from...is very explosive...Meet with me or not...I kindly ask you fly safe...no matter how our view points may differ.

Take care...
