Some good news and some bad...
I first applied 28/05/01 and started 09/07/01 so the tests, medical, security, etc don't always take that long.
Unfortunately courses are much smaller now 'cos although we need more ATCO's in the long term no one wants to pay them in the short term after the events in sept.
As for where you'll end up... in theory anywhere is possible but you'll do well to avoid NERC.
Still good luck to all. Be patient. From what I've done it's well worth it.

Hello all you 'soon to be ATCOs'

Have you noticed how much support information there is for wannabe pilots, yet next to nothing for ATCOs??

Im trying to put together a web site for those preparing for the recruitment process and would like your help.

If you have recently been to the interview stage I would really like to hear about the questions/situations you were faced with. It was 1998 when I went through the process and wonder if much has changed (are they really asking you to learn aircraft statistics now?)

If you could write down any questions you remember from the personnel and technical interviews and email me at the address below, then maybe we can help others perpare for the selection.

If you are soon to take the interviews then email me if you would like a couple of small documents outlining what to expect.

Cheers
