Well, they closed the last one, and as the nights are drawing in, what else is there to do?

On second thoughts, don't answer that one!

Well, I was wondering how long it would be before the "son of Bended Knee" appeared - although my money was on Buzz to get things going, but well done to you Adge!

We could always use this thread to post the scandal from next weekend's party.

I thought it could serve as an effective communication tool for the 40% of the unit we all no longer see!

Can't keep a good thread down I see.

So who is the new outing team now that B watch is no more? :D

Going to catch up with my "old" buddies at the Y watch Xmas dinner next week... might even have a surprise up my sleeve so be there or be square.

Still more new names I do not recognise, surely they can't all ne from ISZ? Or has mokey boy been registering yet another load of different user names again?

Where are the Y Watch lads off to after the lunch then? Is the plan still to meet us Z watch boys in town somewhere?

Hey Dad

You have anything to do with that Xmas decoration of the snowwoman with the big boobies that's at the end of your road?

Snow is on its way chaps/esses, this week could see the first issue of certificates this year!

Xmas bash stories? Well.....nah couldn't! :D

Not again!! I'm away down south this afternoon and have to return on Boxing Day as Mrs NumberOne is back to work on the 27th! Looks like I might earn a proper certificate this year :p

Talk about cold hands!

I too may be in recepit of a certificate this yr, going south on the 23rd, returning on the 26th. Hopefully herself will be feeling strong after being fed relentlessly, and help to push. ;)

UR no 1, you've got another 2WD advantage over most of us, so it's inexcusable for you to get caught out.

Greetings from South o' the border, where (sorry to disappoint you Buzz) the snow melted overnight - looks like I'll have to wait a bit longer for that elusive certificate.

Sorry to dissapoint you all but it was nothing to do with the xmas lunch, I was driving and didn't even go into town afterwards, just wasn't very well at all for the next 24hours or so, obviously something I ate dissagreed with me!

Odi: nice attempt to start what would have been a good rumour but unfortunately was a non-event, however I'm not working now until boxing day so theres still time! :)

Merry Christmas to all..

Went through the local village earlier today and saw another one of these strange flashing snowpersons. Now I know you are in that village a lot, one at the end of your road.....coincidence?

Data Dad, mild mannered ATCO or dodgy Christmas decoration salesman? :) :) :)

Don't worry No.1 the snow is back!!!! You still have the rest of the winter to get that coveted award.

Merry Christmas to you all at the Station!

Saw a discovery in a fence today. How I larfed, - they only have more grip than the rest of us when they're speeding up, when it comes to slowing down or going round corners, they're just like we are.

But with a lot more momentum.

You could have at least waited until you were out of the restaurant before pulling off that trick with the chocolate profiteroles and hot fudge sauce!!!!! :) :) :) :) Was that a repair kit for your flashing signs that you had in the Argos bag the other day, or next years samples!

A bit of advice for the unwary, don't invite a certain Sumburgh controller around for drinkies without locking away the vacuum cleaner first..

Buzz, the profiteroles and hot fudge sauce didnt help solve the unserviceability of the flashing snowperson :) :) worked wonders in other ways though! The Argos bag actually contained the ingredients for more of the sauce

A rather disturbing thought occurred to me earlier today - 20 years to the day since I started at the College (any other 49ers out there?) Ironically, it snowed in Bournemouth that day and caused chaos - maybe it was trying to tell me something

None whatsoever, however I freely admit to having had to look up my 'phone number in the contact book. After all I was reliably informed that in the not too distant past my number in said Oracle was incorrect - I wouldn't want to give the right no. to helo companies for on call on New Years Day would I?

Hi Marking...

It might be sold - just have to lay my old man's car sales chat on one of our colleagues! Anyway, it's only when you reach my advanced years can you afford the insurance on something faster!

And hello Dad...

Thanks for the advice, although like most of us I'm hoping to have seen the last of the white stuff at ISZ for this winter (unless the Spirit of Common Sense can sort out the braking action thing! ).

Sorry Adge...I was barking up the wrong tree (again)!. .No,I'm no longer involved in aviation.I was an ATCA at EGLL many years ago,and although being selected for a Cadetship, failed to make the grade. As it has turned out,a couple of health problems would probably have meant loss of licence.Perhaps these things happen for a purpose.Sorry if the "call sign" confused the issue.I chose it simply because I only fly now as a fare paying passenger and I'm English. It was second choice-I had wanted "Pax Britannica" but it was already in use.I still follow Aviation events as my presence here testifies despite my career disappointments. Thanks for responding..... .P A

Just thought that I would prove that URNo1 isn't the only ISZ ATCO capable of posting on PPrune whilst being out of the country. Or, as Mrs Odi just put it "being a sad bar steward". Or something along those lines! So here I am in sunny Bergen in a cyber cafe drinking undrinkable coffee replying to the ISZ regulars. Mrs Odi wanted to know why we couldn't live here. So i pointed out that there was no need to move to a cold, wet country where we couldn't speak the language as we already lived in a cold, wet country where we couldn't speak the language!

See you next cycle (maybe)

Fluffy has it right. Fortunately the post had been edited by the time I got here. Anyone naming a PPRuNer without their express permission, or naming an individual whose name is not in the public domain is liable to be sent to Captain PPRuNe's office for tea and biccies from now on.

And to remove some temptation, this thread is now closed.
