Air Traffic Manager is a Mrs V. Thompson - she can be contacted via ATC.

Interested by your post though - what do you mean by an "ATC position" - what's your experience /qualifications? They are a small unit and I believe staff turnover is not that frequent.

Or try Paul Bryan, he's the Satco and not a bad spud either. . .As for turnover, it's got better in the last 3 years due to better salaries (circa £41K for radar), but it's like anywhere, it goes in cycles - in 1998/99, they lost 5 controllers to other airports in seven months, so you never know. They used to keep your details on file if they liked you. The idea being that if there were no vacancies at the time, you could be "invited to apply" when one came up.

Good luck.

. .Sleeping's permitted, dribbling isn't!

Experiance: Valiated tower only

Thanks for the info. If there is nothing at Cov then I'll start testing the waters at places as far as Cambridge, Oxford and East Mids.

Understand though East Mids dont take tower only?

Cambridge - Think they've got a couple of ADC only's. More interested in more ratings as they've had a recent failure on an APP course (within the last 7 months).

Oxford - SERCO, good posssibility, apply direct to Sally Johnstone at their offices in Hook

East Mids - Don't take tower only because they don't have to. There are people with all 3 ratings trying to get jobs there. You'd be near the back of the queue, just in front of someone without a licence

Coventry- used to be an atco feeder station for EGNX .. .As Chilli says, don't bother with East Mid's or Birmingham until you get all 3 ratings.. .If you're really stuck, you could always try Wolverhampton Business Airport (formerly Halfpenny Green), http://www.halfpennygreenairport.co.uk. .They're advertising on the website for atco's with adc/apc, but I don't think the response has been overwhelming and they may be willing to offer some training.. .If you do go, take a bull**** deflector. :) :)

never assume, if you're thinking of Oxford/Cambridge, don't forget Cranfield. Also a Serco unit and it's well worth dropping a line to Sally Johnston.

Don't bother with Cambridge either, the hangers are virtually empty, no one seems to know when or where the next contract is coming from.. .Someone's screwed up big time at Marshalls, and whilst there's no suggestion that the airfield and factory operation are under threat, it's vewy vewy quiet in the Fens at the moment.
