Just sent this letter to the CAA via email, but being as I'm more or less desperate for an answer to this potentially huge cock-up can anyone advise....

Dear Sir/Madam
I am currently studying for a degree in Aviation Technology at the University of
Leeds. As part of the course of study, I will be undergoing flight training
and be required to pass the relevent examinations for the PPL(A).
Having already completed a PPL(H) some years ago, and as a result have already
submitted passes in the PPL theory exams to the CAA, can you please advise me
on where I stand regarding submitting further exams.
I understand that subjects technically specific to aeroplanes would be
mandatory, but that subjects common to both (A) and (H) training courses need
not be taken again. My problem, however, is that I will be required by the
University of Leeds to take all the PPL exams again, the results of which are
mapped onto a University marking scale to provide marks which are creditted to
my degree.
Effectively, is it a problem to submit CAA exams for marking considering I
already hold passes in those subjects? Do new results effectively cancel old
ones out? Obviously if this cannot be done I face a rather unwelcome dilemna
having already started my degree.
