Well my hand is staying firmly down!

In order to head off the inevitable ... MATS Pt 1 Amendment 52 "(Callsign)avoiding action, (callsign) turn... etc"

And these are the things we miss because Part 1 ammendments are no longer provided in the briefing room.

And the new taxi instructions...

" C/S Taxi HOLDING POSITION 27R"

or was that taxi in position and hold 27R..!

Any SRG numpties wish to comment..?

I'm with GW. The lack or a personal update will only mean that things will start to slide, no matter how hard we try.

Dad, it doesn't matter what you say, you spend a fruitless couple of minutes trying to get in touch with them as the traffic gets nearer and nearer, when it's gone away they say "Were you calling?" or "Was that for us"

Just had a quick look at E(Attach)etc .... wish I hadn't now .... GROAN!

Looks like Documedia have done a promo on 'insert arrows' - have you ever seen so many!

Have to agree about the number of changes and in particular the taxi one - I missed that change on first look through. How on earth are we supposed to take in so many changes in one go?

For the cognescenti - there are more Black Arrows in these amendments than were successfully looped at Farnborough :) :)

Adge,

yep, been there, done that, esp with the rotary wing variety pack...

IThink: great link, why weren't we told this link b4 instead of just siting there in fat dumb and happy mode. At least when we got the paper amendments you may not have read them, but someone did, and so the knowledge got passed around verbally.

How can trainees keep up to date without paper books. I know that I can't.

What a great advance yet again

i am just waiting for an aircraft to confuse the " taxi holding POSITION....." with HOLD POSITION and ask if he is to hold or taxi! SRG input would be very interesting. Apparently the changes are to bring us into line with ICAO phraseology

Com'on chaps, this amendment came into force on 28 Dec, chop chop! :) :)

Have you noticed that the date of the amendment on the SRG site is 28 Dec 1900? There is a reason for it. Er, er,. . .

I understand there are a lot of unhappy bunnies within the company. Standyby for a change.

Obviously didn't swallow their own c**p about Y2K
compatability!
Agree about the number of changes.
Whatever happened to industry consultation? Stop laughing!

IThink,

Thanks for the link!
Now we just need SRG to send us email alerts when the new amendments come out.

Seriously - This is a big case for bringing back the paper amendments. I know there was a letter went around about how we could get personal copies, did anyone take it up - does it cost?

I got asked about the new phraseology in a validation board recently, and hadn't a clue. In fact SRG was the only person who knew. Examiner and supernumery completely in the dark about it too! So I got away with it

GW,

SRG will send you such an e-mail; there is a subscription service on the website. You can select your area on interest and they'll let you know when anything of interest is published. It works very well (so far, at least!).

Abbreviated read back:

You missed GW's point, by subscribing to SRG for MATS 1 ammendments we are letting management off the hook again. It may work very well so far but when I was issued with my own copy that worked even better.
At my NATS unit not one copy of the MATS 1 has the latest ammendment. Why?
Is it because it is becoming too expensive to keep us informed, what are they going to do next..put a coin meter in the rest room so we have to pay to boil the kettle!!!!

Blimey.....no keen DWM's to ammend them then!!?!?

Standards dear boy, standards!!!

No I meant turn RIGHT
22nd Jan 2002, 00:21
But PA7 don't you have to have an up to date MATS 1 for reference when your working?

PA7
22nd Jan 2002, 12:41
As of the 21st there is not 1 copy of the latest ammendment on the unit, still waiting for them to arrive by snail mail. The rumour is that the company responsible for distribution had gone into liquidation. No doubt they will use the standard excuse; Sept 11th it seems to work for every thing else.. .B-L hows it going buddy, long time no hear.

Westward documedia (nee Westward Digital) are in Receivership. They will still take orders but can only accept payment by cheque, not credit cards.

Absolutely Disgusting.

So units are without copies for this reason!!?!?!

Just so happens to be the biggest change in MATS pt 1 for a while - esp the Phraseology.

Didn't this lot take over from the CAA who do it themselves??

I got my own copy, just thought it wrong that the unit does not. As for impressing the new DWM well you know where to stick that one!!!!. .(A one horse race by all accounts).

We have a new milk monitor, a certain officious member of the chicken run...ooops spilt my coffee got to go. :)

Well, as two of the chicken run flew the roost, I can only assume it must be Fowler!!
